G303 RIO
The Model
G303 RIO (Remote I/O) is a robust, economical
solution for local I/O expansion, or Wireless
and/or RS485 remote I/O requirements in
SCADA and Process Control applications.
In addition to its RS485 data port,
it is available with an integrated spread-spectrum
radio for high performance Wireless data
communications. And with the use
of the integrated SS radio, the RS485
port can be used to add additional I/O
or other Modbus devices to the Wireless
system. Other communication options
are also available.
The G303 packs a powerful array of features
not common in its price range. Features
include a rugged enclosure, very low power
consumption, self-resetting fuses, LED
annunciation, 24V transducer power source,
precision A/D conversion, configurable
meter input, flow rate and totalizer registers,
industrial temperature rating, transient
protection all the way around, 10 amp form
C relay contacts, pluggable wire terminals,
etc. I/O includes 4 Analog Inputs,
1 Meter Input, 8 Digital Inputs and 4 Digital
(relay) Outputs. See
pdf data sheet (at left) for details, and call G3 Technologies for pricing.
The G303 is a very versatile unit, suitable
for SOLAR powered applications, and a multitude
of Wireless I/O applications. It
has all the I/O needed for most pump site
or well-head automation.

G303-558 RIO
This special
version of the G303 is available as a drop-in
replacement for the Amocams ASC 558 Combo
RTU. It uses the same G303 hardware, but
with an FSK Modem and custom firmware.
Reference the G303-558 User Doc (below)
for additional information.
The G303-558 was developed to help solve
a major challenge faced when needing
to expand or upgrade the aging Amocams
systems. Because of the proprietary nature
of the Amocams systems, along with un-availability
of new equipment, the only solution was
often a very expensive gross replacement
of the entire SCADA system with something
new.
With the G303-558 RIO serving as a drop-in
replacement for the ASC 558 Combo RTU,
the proprietary Amocams system can be
expanded as needed, and the RTUs can
be replaced one unit at a time (often
within the operating budget) without
disturbing the protocol supported by
the Host PC.
At a later date, then, the HMI software
can be updated with a modern standard,
and the G303-558 RIO units can be easily
converted to the standard Modbus version
of the G303 RIO with your choice of data
communications. This strategy provides
a comfortable migration path to a SCADA
system with modern open industry standards.
See the Amocams page for additional
information about Amocams system support.

G301
RIO
The Model
G301 RIO (Remote I/O) is a low cost solution
for I/O expansion and remote I/O requirements
in SCADA and Process Control applications. It
provides 24 Digital Inputs, 4 Analog Inputs,
and 8 Digital (FET) Outputs. See
pdf data sheet for details, and call G3
Technologies for pricing.
The G301 uses standard RS485 serial
data communications with Modbus Slave
protocol. It is especially suited
for applications requiring low power
and/or environmental tolerance, including
SOLAR applications. It also makes
a great local or remote "Modbus
End Device" to gather data for a
PLC or RTU acting as a Data Concentrator.
The G301 board is also designed to install
directly into a VAREC Series 1650 or 1750
Tank Gauge encoding head (or compatible
unit) with direct connection to the Gray
Code signal. It also supports the
additional analog and digital I/O requirements
for a typical Tank Monitoring application.

G305
FSK Modem
The Model
G305 FSK Modem is a stand-alone unit that
converts RS232 to an FSK Modem. This unit
is used with an external radio that has
audio Tx and Rx, and supports the use of
VHF and UHF "splinter" frequencies.
The G305 is typically used at the computer
(PC, PLC or RTU) that is polling RTU
or RIO units in the field. It is packaged
in an attractive enclosure for panel
or DIN rail mounting, and has terminations
for standard DB9 serial port cable, 12vdc
power, audio and PTT signals for the
external radio, and has LEDs for monitoring
power and data activity.

G306
Radio Modem, Spread Spectrum
The G306 Wireless Modem
is a stand-alone high performance Spread
Spectrum data radio unit with an RS232
interface. It is a 100mW radio at either
900Mhz or 2.4 Ghz, and operates at either
9600 or 19.2K baud.
The G306 is typically used at the computer
(PC, PLC, or RTU) that is polling RTU
or RIO units in the field. It is packaged
in an attractive enclosure for panel
or DIN rail mounting, and has terminals
for standard DB9 serial port cable, 12Vdc
power, antenna connection, and has LEDs
for monitoring power and data activity.
This SS radio package can be used with
a whip antenna right on the unit, or a
coaxial cable to an antenna mounted elsewhere.
